Game Server Rentals

Organizers can offer players paid or prepaid access to on-demand game servers, with per-game pricing, regional availability, and usage tracking, across a growing catalog of titles beyond Counter-Strike 2.

A Multi-Game Rental Catalog

Server rentals started with Counter-Strike 2 and have since extended to a broader catalog of self-hostable titles. Alongside Counter-Strike 2, the catalog includes other shared-slot Source-engine titles — such as CS:GO, Counter-Strike: Source, and Team Fortress 2 — a TeamSpeak 3 voice server option, and a set of whole-server, dedicated titles such as Valheim, Project Zomboid, Palworld, 7 Days to Die, Minecraft, Satisfactory, ARK: Survival Evolved, and V Rising. Because the catalog is data-driven, adding support for a new self-hostable game is a configuration change rather than new product code, so the list of available titles can keep growing.

Games are grouped by hosting model: shared-slot titles are priced and provisioned per slot on a shared server, while dedicated titles are rented as a whole server, typically billed monthly.

Offering: Turning A Game On

The Offering section lists every self-hostable game in the catalog and lets an organizer enable it for their project one at a time. For each game, an organizer sets:

  • the regions where players can access that game's rental servers,
  • which slot tiers are available (for shared-slot games, common tiers plus a custom slot count option; for dedicated games, a single dedicated-server tier),
  • whether players can self-rent a server for their own use, and if so, the maximum number of concurrent rentals a single player can hold,
  • whether renting requires the player to have a platform wallet.

A game that is disabled is hidden from players entirely; enabling it makes it available according to whatever regions and tiers the organizer has configured.

Pricing: How Players Are Charged

The Pricing section sets, per game and per tier, how rental cost is calculated. Two billing modes are available:

  • Prepaid capacity — the organization pre-pays for capacity, so players play for free within that budget.
  • Resale — the organization charges players directly for the servers they rent.

On top of the billing mode, an organizer chooses a pricing mode — per slot, per session, or prepaid capacity — sets the price per tier and currency, and can enable pay-as-you-go usage-based pricing or a recurring subscription with a monthly, quarterly, or yearly billing interval.

Usage: Tracking Capacity And Cost

The Usage section gives a consolidated view of rental activity: a capacity chart and an allocation table broken down by game, region, and slot tier, showing available slots against active sessions. Where invoicing applies, this section also summarizes open invoices for the current billing period.

Slot Grants: Prepaid Capacity

For games billed under prepaid capacity, the actual pool of slots an organization can allocate to players comes from slot grants — capacity issued by platform admins into an organization's account. Organizers can see, per grant, the total slots, how many are in use, reserved, and still available, its billing mode, region, tier, and expiration. Grants themselves are read-only from the organizer side; when an organization needs more capacity than it currently holds, it requests additional slots from platform support rather than allocating them directly. If every granted slot is in use, new servers can't be started until a slot frees up or more capacity is granted.

Per-Game Configuration

Selecting a specific game from the Offering list opens that game's own configuration page, where the settings above — enablement, regions, slot tiers, self-rent limits, and wallet requirements — are managed in detail, alongside a direct link into that game's slot grants.

Typical Rental Setup Workflow

  1. Open the Offering section and enable the games you want to make available to players.
  2. For each enabled game, choose the regions and slot tiers to offer.
  3. Set pricing in the Pricing section — pick a billing mode, then set per-tier pricing or enable a subscription.
  4. If the game uses prepaid capacity, confirm you have enough slot grant capacity, or request more from support.
  5. Monitor the Usage section as players start renting, watching for tiers or regions nearing capacity.
