Manage Tournament Permissions and Staff Access
Assign granular permissions to staff members so each person has exactly the access they need inside a tournament.
Tournament permissions let you control what each staff member can do within a specific tournament. Permissions are independent from project-level roles, so you can give someone broad project access but narrow tournament access — or vice versa. Keeping permissions scoped to each person's actual responsibilities reduces mistakes and keeps your event running cleanly.
Where to find it
Projects → [Your Project] → [Tournament] → Settings → Permissions
(projects/[id]/tournaments/[id]/settings/permissions)
Step by step
- Open the tournament and go to Settings → Permissions.
- Click Add member.
- Search by username or email address.
- Assign one or more permission levels from the list below.
- Click Save.
Available permission levels
| Permission | What it allows |
|---|---|
| Administrate tournament | Complete access over all tournament settings and actions |
| Setup tournament | Access to general settings — intended for the early setup phase |
| Setup structure | Access to the Structure menu to build brackets and stages |
| Report results | Access to the Matches menu to enter scores and results |
| Manage participants | View and edit participant information |
| Place participants | Access to the Placement tool |
| Manage registrations | View, accept, and refuse registrations |
| Manage final standing | Fill in the final standings after the tournament ends |
Best practices
- Do not give Administrate tournament to everyone — reserve it for trusted leads.
- A common two-tier setup: head admins get most permissions, regular admins get Report results only.
- Review the permissions list before each event to remove access for staff who are no longer involved.
What happens next
- Staff members appear in the permissions list immediately after saving.
- They gain access to the permitted sections of the tournament dashboard right away.
- To adjust access later, return to Settings → Permissions, click the member's name, and update their permissions.
