Manage Tournament Permissions and Staff Access

Assign granular permissions to staff members so each person has exactly the access they need inside a tournament.

Tournament permissions let you control what each staff member can do within a specific tournament. Permissions are independent from project-level roles, so you can give someone broad project access but narrow tournament access — or vice versa. Keeping permissions scoped to each person's actual responsibilities reduces mistakes and keeps your event running cleanly.

Where to find it

Projects → [Your Project] → [Tournament] → Settings → Permissions

(projects/[id]/tournaments/[id]/settings/permissions)

Step by step

  1. Open the tournament and go to Settings → Permissions.
  2. Click Add member.
  3. Search by username or email address.
  4. Assign one or more permission levels from the list below.
  5. Click Save.

Available permission levels

PermissionWhat it allows

Manage registrationsView, accept, and refuse registrations
Manage final standingFill in the final standings after the tournament ends

Best practices

  • Do not give Administrate tournament to everyone — reserve it for trusted leads.
  • A common two-tier setup: head admins get most permissions, regular admins get Report results only.
  • Review the permissions list before each event to remove access for staff who are no longer involved.

What happens next

  • Staff members appear in the permissions list immediately after saving.
  • They gain access to the permitted sections of the tournament dashboard right away.
  • To adjust access later, return to Settings → Permissions, click the member's name, and update their permissions.

For project-level team management (who can access the project itself), see Manage team and roles. To understand how appeals are handled by staff, see Appeals.
