Duplicate a tournament

Copy an existing tournament to reuse its settings, structure, and branding when running a repeat or similar event.

Duplicating a tournament is the fastest way to set up a new event that follows the same format as one you have already run. The copy starts in draft state so you can adjust dates and details before publishing.

Where to find it

Projects → [Your Project] → [Tournament] → Settings → General (look for the Duplicate action in the actions menu)

Step by step

  1. Open the tournament you want to copy.
  2. Navigate to Settings → General and find the Duplicate action, or look for it in the tournament's overflow menu on the tournament list page.
  3. Enter a name for the new tournament.
  4. Choose which elements to copy:
    • Settings (general settings, registration rules, participant rules, match rules)
    • Structure (bracket format and stage configuration)
    • Branding (logo, banner, colors)
  5. Click Duplicate.
  6. The new tournament is created in draft state inside the same project.
  7. Open the new tournament and update:
    • Tournament name and dates
    • Registration open and close dates
    • Any settings that differ from the original event
  8. When ready, publish the tournament.

What to review after duplicating

  • Registration dates — these are not automatically adjusted and will likely need updating.
  • Prize configuration — verify prize amounts are correct for the new event.
  • Participant list — the duplicated tournament starts with no participants; registrations open fresh.
  • Structure — participants placed in the original event are not copied; placement happens fresh after registrations close.

What happens next

After adjusting settings, follow the same flow as any new tournament: configure registration settings, place participants, and go live.

Use and manage tournament templates

Start a tournament from a pre-configured template, or save your own event format as a reusable template for future use.
